Mind-Blowing Smeared Sky Photography by Matt Molloy

Canada-based photographer Matt Molloy brings sky photography to a new level. By stacking hundreds of separate sky shots he is able to achieve an incredible brush-like effect. Each final picture in his “Smeared Sky” series is a result of combining from 100 to 200 photographs.

The number of pictures he uses depends on various factors, such as weather conditions, cloudiness, or whether the object in the picture is moving or static. “Sometimes the clouds are moving quick and there’s lots of them. If I stack too many photos from a timelapse like that, it can get a little messy,” says Matt, adding that it’s usually mid day timelapses that cause more problems.

Matt has been shooting timelapses for over three years now: “For every day that I don’t shoot a timelapse, I probably shoot two the next day,” he says.

What draws Matt to this process most is the experimenting, as you never know what you’re going to get in the end. That’s especially true with the sunsets, as the sky gets increasingly darker – but Matt says these timelapses seem to work very well. Check out his gallery for more!

QWERTY sofa

Arms folded and cheek pressed on the keys. Sooner or later, at home or at work, we all end up by falling asleep on our computer’s keyboard. Turning the archetypal image of a keyboard, into a sofa bed, QWERTY is proposed to hold you on its soft “keys” on evenings while working in the office or at home on a rainy afternoons spentwatching the home video, bringing a pinch of irony in our daily life. Anyway QWERTY is much more than a sofa bed. Thanks to micro electric motors controlled by a remote control, every single key/cushion is adjustable in height to give total freedom to the full available surface. In this way, the furniture becomes a playful carpet, a comfortable support but an unconventional surface, to let the users to be able to design new configurations useful for everyday life, and to be happy to finally sleep on their keyboard.

Unusual Bath Rugs & Mats

Bamboo Bath Mat

They say that walking on fresh grass increases your blood circulation; I can't vouch for that! Anyway, it is a reason to get going to the nearest park, remove your expensive Jimmy Choo's and prance around. The Moss Carpet, created by Nguyen La Chanh, is designed to get the grass to your feet, and also in your loo! Made from imputrescible foam called plastazote, the mat includes ball moss, island moss and forest moss. The humidity of the bathroom ensures that the mosses thrive. That's why you need to place it there and not anywhere else. Little gnomes not included.
iPhone inspired bath rug.
You know the pool rules and the same apply to the bath. Lifeguard not on duty, so no diving in the bathtub.
If you're tired of regular bath mats soaking through to the floor (and feeling nasty all day), you can always make your own out of wine corks—not only are they cheap (or free), but their entire purpose in life is to get splashed with liquid and dry off again.

Danny Seo built one by collecting the corks and standing them upright in a shadow box, which can be built with wood or bought at just about any major crafts store. The corks themselves come super cheap in large bags, but they're much more fun to collect the old-fashioned way.
